From Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel Spring 2008 Collection, this 2-piece set features a military style jacket in blue wash denim that features a strap at the waist with a double hook closure at the front, epaulettes,‘CC’ buttons, and tiered raw edge contrast trim throughout. The trousers have a front hook and eye flap closure with 2 parallel 'CC' logos embossed into the denim and a side zip closure. The set is in excellent vintage condition and comes with ruffled denim cuffs adorned with ribbons and seashells.

“God bless America”

The topical, possibly controversial message from Karl Lagerfeld for his Spring 2008 Ready-To-Wear collection was ‘God Bless America’, which perhaps explains the plethora of denim, the then parade of star prints and red-and-white striped jackets. Many pieces from the collection were blue from head to toe and the collection soon became known as his ‘Blue Collection’.

To contrast the cobalt, periwinkles and sky tones, Lagerfeld used metallic accessories, loaded with pearls, chains, bows, bangles, buttons, and star-strung jewellery.

The jacket is Look 1 from the show and was seen on Kiera Knightley and Claudia Schiffer in the Chanel ad campaign.
